Franklin County Water District is currently seeking a Lake Patrol Officer to protect public safety and enforce District rules and regulations.  The Lake Patrol Officer is responsible for patrolling District property and Lake Cypress Springs and investigating all violations of applicable laws and regulations.  Additional responsibilities include managing public safety requirements, performing permit inspections and preparing written reports/paperwork related to the job.

The Lake Patrol Officer position involves regular and irregular shift work including weekends and holidays.  Shifts are normally eight (8) hours but may be extended based on workload and other circumstances.

Ideal candidates will be organized and maintain the required certifications of a Texas peace officer.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are vital.  Knowledge of the District’s policies, procedures, rules and regulations as well as applicable Texas and Federal laws are also requirements.  Understanding of first aid techniques and the operation of small watercraft are preferred.

The Franklin County Water District is a conservation and reclamation district created by a special act of the legislature in 1965.  The duty of the district is to control, store, preserve and distribute its waters and flood waters for all useful purposes.
